NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lewisham Council made this temporary traffic order under the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by The Traffic Orders Procedure (Coronavirus) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2020 because of the likelihood of danger to the public on and adjacent to the highway, and that it is necessary to make the order for purposes connected to coronavirus so as to maintain social distancing on and adjacent to the highway at various school locations. The effects of the order are indicated below:-

2. Exceptions from the provisions are provided in the Order for any vehicle, on any occasion, when it is being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes if the observance of those provisions would hinder the use of the vehicle; or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform.
3. Exceptions from the provisions are provided for vehicles being used in connection with the removal of any obstruction to traffic; the maintenance, improvement, reconstruction, cleansing or lighting within the street; the laying, erection, alteration in or adjacent to the street of any sewer or of any main, pipe or apparatus for the supply of gas, water or electricity, or of any electronic communications network [within the meaning of the Communications Act 2003], or the placing, maintenance or removal of any traffic sign in the street.
4. Exceptions from the provisions are provided in the Order for (i) vehicles on the London Borough of Lewisham approved list of vehicles; (ii) refuse collection vehicles engaged in refuse collection; (iii) any street cleansing vehicle whilst carrying out cleansing operations, and (iv) any vehicle being engaged on work at the electricity substation situated on the western side of the said road.
5. The order comes into force on the 6th day of April 2021 to remain in force for up to 18 months.
6. The prohibitions apply as, when and to the extent signed on the highway.
