STAINES ROAD, FELTHAM: CYCLING AND WALKING IMPROVEMENTS

A. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT. SECTION 23 – PROVISION OF PEDESTRIAN CROSSING

B. THE LONDON BOROUGH OF HOUNSLOW (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 20**

C. THE LONDON BOROUGH OF HOUNSLOW (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (2018, NO. 2) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 20**

D. HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 90A – PROVISION OF ROAD HUMPS

1. The London Borough of Hounslow proposes to make the above Orders, introduce a parallel pedestrian and cyclist crossing, and install a road hump under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The parallel pedestrian and cyclist crossing would be situated in Staines Road between its junctions with Kingston Avenue and Cassiobury Avenue, in place of the existing pedestrian refuge island outside Nos. 290 and 292 Staines Road.

3. The flat-top road hump would be situated in Kingston Avenue from its junction with Staines Road northwards with a maximum plateau length of 7 metres, a maximum height of 75mm and ramp gradient of 1 in 12. This would provide a flush surface for pedestrians and cyclists crossing Kingston Avenue at its junction with Staines Road.

4. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Order would be to:

a) Update the Order to match the “no waiting at any time” restrictions marked on both sides of White Bridge Close, from its junction with Staines Road for 10 metres northwards; and

b) Remove “no waiting” restrictions from White Bridge Close from 10 metres north of Staines Road for 8 metres northwards.

5. The general effect of the Prescribed Routes Order would be to introduce one-way working on Staines Road service road serving Nos. 359 to 379a Staines Road in an east to west direction.

6. Documents giving further information on the proposals and the proposed Orders can be viewed for a period of 21 days from the date of this Notice online at hounslow.gov.uk by typing in the term “traffic notices” in the search bar.

7. Any person wishing to object to the proposed pedestrian and cyclist crossing, road hump or Orders should send a statement in writing, stating the grounds of the objection, to the Assistant Director of Traffic, Transport & Parking, Hounslow Council, Hounslow House, 7 Bath Road, Hounslow, Middlesex TW3 3EB or by email to trafficorders@hounslow.gov.uk quoting the reference TMO/P023/22, to be received by no later than Friday, 15 July 2022.
