THE HACKNEY (PARKING PLACES) (MAP BASED) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.242) ORDER 2024

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 4th day of October 2024 the Council of the London Borough of Hackney made the above-mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

2. The general effect of the orders will be to introduce Electric Vehicle bays in the following locations;

Road Name Location
Banbury Road 5m south from the junction with Penshurst Road, for a distance of 14.2m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a permit bay.
Berkshire Road 6.7m south from the junction with Leabank Square, for a distance of 29.2m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a permit bay.
Cavendish Street 9.3m east from the junction with Cropley Street, for a distance of 14.2m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a permit bay.
Cresset Road 14.3m west from the junction with Well Street, for a distance of 14.7m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a permit bay.
De Beauvoir Road 4.9m north from the extended building line 36 De Beauvoir Road, for a distance of 15.7m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a residence permit bay.
De Beauvoir Square 2.8m north from the extended building line of 1-12 Poole Court, for a distance of 14.2m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a residence permit bay.
Mead Place 5.7m south from the junction with Retreat Place, for a distance of 14.2m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a permit bay.
Penshurst Road 16.5m east from the junction with Lauriston Road, for a distance of 14.2m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a permit bay.
Prince Edward Road 6.6m north from the junction with Felstead Street, for a distance of 14.2m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a permit bay.
Sandringham Road 10.0m west from the junction with Cecilia Road, for a distance of 14.2m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a residence permit bay.
Shore Place 6.1m north from the extended boundary line of flats 47/51 of King Edwards Road, for a distance of 14.2m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a permit bay.

3. The general effect of the Orders will be to introduce Electric Vehicle charging bays with a maximum stay of 4 hours no return within 2 hours in the following locations;

Ada Street 20.6m east from the extended building line of 1-6/9 Ada Street, for a distance of 28.7m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing the cashless shared bay.
Pitfield Street 13.2m north from the junction with Chart Street, for a distance of 28.9m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing cashless shared use bay.
St Mark's Rise 2.6m north from the extended building line of 18/19 St Marks Rise, for a distance of 29.4m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing cashless shared use bay.
Windsor Terrace 4.6m north from the extended building line of 1/12 Micawber Court, for a distance of 28.9m install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing cashless shared use bay.

4. The general effect of the Orders will be to implement the following provisions at the locations listed:

● Electric vehicle charging only bays

● Car Club permit holders only bays

● Fast electric vehicle chargers’ bays

Road Name Location
Shrubland Road 9.9m south west from the junction with Lansdowne Drive, for a distance of 5.5m install a new car club bay, 1.5m no waiting at any time restrictions and 6.0m new electric vehicle charging bay replacing cashless shared use bay.

5. Copies of the Orders, which will come into force on 6th of December 2024, other relevant Orders, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, can be inspected for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made by email request to streetscene.consultations@hackney.gov.uk. Alternatively such documents can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays, in the visitor’s reception area, London Borough of Hackney, Hackney Service Centre, 1 Hillman Street, London, E8 1DY by appointment only.

6. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders are made, may appeal to the High Court.
