NOTICE UNDER SECTION 28 OF THE TRUSTEE ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1958
AON MCMILLEN LIMITED RETIREMENT BENEFITS SCHEME (THE "SCHEME")
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 28 of the Trustee Act (Northern Ireland) 1958 that the Trustees of the Scheme are winding up the Scheme following a transfer of the majority of members and benefits to the Aon Retirement Plan.
The Scheme was formerly known as the Sumner and McMillen Limited Retirement Benefits Scheme. Sumner and McMillen Limited was purchased by Aon and changed its name to Aon McMillen Ltd in April 1997 then to Aon Risk Services (NI) Limited in November 2004.
The Trustees believe that they have identified everyone with a right to benefits under the Scheme. If you believe you may be entitled to benefits from or have an interest in the Scheme and you have not been contacted by the Trustees in the last 12 months, please write to the Trustees, at the addresses given below, within two months of the date of publication of this notice. Persons with an interest in the Scheme may include:
1. any employee or former employee of Sumner and McMillen Ltd, Aon McMillen Ltd or Aon Risk Services (NI) Limited (or any other employer who they believe participated in the Scheme) who also: (a) believes that they are a member of the Scheme; (b) is not already receiving a pension in respect of their membership of the Scheme; and (c) has not received any correspondence from the Trustees within the last 12 months;
2. any person who believes themselves to be a beneficiary of the Scheme as the widow, widower, child or dependant of a deceased member of the Scheme; and
3. any other person who believes they have a claim against, or have an interest in, the Scheme.

When contacting the Trustees, please provide full details of the benefits you believe you are entitled to, alongside your full name (and any former names you have been known by), address, date of birth, National Insurance number and either details of when you were a member of the Scheme or full details of the deceased member to which your claim relates. Please quote the Scheme’s name in all correspondence.
Claimants need not write if they have received correspondence from Trustees within the last 12 months. In addition, any person who has transferred their benefits out of the Scheme need not take any action because these persons do not have any benefits in the Scheme.
After 18th June 2025, being the expiry of two months from the date of publication of this notice, the Trustees will proceed to complete the winding up of the Scheme, having regard only to the claims and interests of which they have prior notice and will not be liable to any person or persons for a claim of which they do not have notice.
