THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONES) (VARIOUS ROADS) ORDER 202*
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (WAITING RESTRICTIONS) (CHOATS ROAD, BARKING) (AMENDMENT NO. ***) ORDER 202*
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in exercise of its powers under Sections 6 and 124 and Parts I to IV of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (hereinafter called “the Act”) as amended by the relevant provisions of the Local Government Act 1985 the Parking Act 1989 and of all other enabling legislation and powers and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act propose to make the above Orders.
The general effect of which will be to:
1. Introduce Pedestrian and Cycle Zones No Motor Vehicles Mon-Fri 8.00-9.15am and 2.45-4.00pm Except for School Street Permit Holders, at the following locations:
a. Samuel Ferguson Place, both sides, from its junction with Bastable Avenue for its entire length.
b. Ford Road (access road to William Ford C of E Junior School), both sides, from its junction with Ford Road southwards for distance of 38 metres.
2. Remove the existing No Waiting Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm restrictions at the following locations:
a. Choats Road, north side, from a point 2 metres west of the western flank wall of No. 13 Keel Close to a point 20 metres east of the western flank wall of Nos. 1-12 Caledonia Court, Choats Road.
b. Choats Road, south side, from a point 2 metres east of the common property boundary to the rear of Nos. 3 and 5 Blessing Way to a point 13 metres east of the eastern property boundary to the rear of No. 33 Blessing Way.
3. Extend the existing No waiting at any time restrictions in Choats Road, both sides, east of the junction with Renwick Road, eastwards to the eastern kerb-line of its junction with Northgate Road.
4. Introduce No loading at any time restrictions at the following locations:
a. Choats Road, both sides, from the junction with Renwick Road to the eastern kerb-line of its junction with Northgate Road.
b. Great Fleete Way, west side, from its junction with Choats Road, southwards for a distance of 11.5 metres.
c. Great Fleete Way, east side, from its junction with Choats Road, southwards for a distance of 10 metres.
d. Northgate Road, both sides, from its junction with Choats Road, southwards for a distance of 7 metres.
e. Stern Close, both sides, from its junction with Choats Road, northwards for a distance of 9.7 metres.
f. Sovereign Road, both sides, from its junction with Choats Road, southwards for a distance of 8.5 metres
g. Keel Close, both sides, from its junction with Choats Road, northwards for a distance of 9 metres
5. Introduce a Bus Stop on Choats Road at the following locations:
a. Choats Road, north side, from a point 60 metres east of the western flank wall of Nos. 1-12 Caledonia Court, Choats Road, eastwards for a distance of 27.5 metres.
b. Choats Road, south side, from a point 30 metres east of the eastern property boundary to the rear of No. 33 Blessing Way, eastwards for a distance of 25 metres.
A copy of the draft Orders together with plans and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing the Orders are available to view on the Councils website by visiting the following webpage https://www.lbbd.gov.uk/parking/parking-area and selecting ‘New and proposed traffic and parking schemes’ or available for inspection at the Adult Library, First Floor, Barking Learning Centre, Barking between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
Any objections and other representations to the proposed Orders must be made in writing stating the grounds on which they are made and sent for the attention of Sarah Marriott-Carle to the address below, within 21 days from the date of publication of this Notice or by visiting the council website and following the link below:
