ALBERT BRIDGE – WEIGHT RESTRICTION AMENDMENT

THE KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA AND WANDSWORTH (WEIGHT AND WIDTH RESTRICTIONS) (ALBERT BRIDGE) (AMENDMENT NO. 1) TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, with the agreement of the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to provide that the existing ban on vehicles weighing more than 3 tonnes maximum gross weight from proceeding over Albert Bridge and in the approach road on its north side between Albert Bridge and Chelsea Embankment applies only to goods vehicles and not to all vehicles.

3. A copy of the proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the scheme may be obtained via email by contacting trafficorders@rbkc.gov.uk quoting reference: “Albert Bridge Weight Restriction” and can be inspected at the Pembroke Road Council Offices, 37 Pembroke Road, London, W8 6PW between 9am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

4. Anyone who wishes to support or object to this proposal or make any other representations in respect of it, should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection, stating the grounds thereof to: trafficorders@rbkc.gov.uk or Traffic Orders, Transport Policy, Transportation and Highways, Room 1.02, Council Offices, 37 Pembroke Road, London, W8 6PW, quoting reference “Albert Bridge Weight Restriction” by 11th June 2025.

6. Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any letter you write to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.
