ROAD TRAFFIC ACTS

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (WAITING AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS) (RAINHAM ROAD SOUTH AND YEW TREE AVENUE) AMENDMENT NO. 144 ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in exercise of its powers under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 and Parts I to IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (hereinafter called “the Act”) and all other enabling legislation and powers and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act made the above Order, the effect of which will be to:

1. Introduce No Waiting at any time restrictions at the following locations:

a. Rainham Road South, west side, from a point 4.8 metres south-east of the common property boundary of Nos. 501/503 and 505/507 Rainham Road South for a distance of 9.9 metres in a south-easterly direction.

b. Rainham Road South, west side, from a point 4 metres south-east of the common property boundary of Nos. 535/537 Rainham Road South to its junction with Reede Road.

c. Rainham Road South, east side, from a point 6.2 metres north-west to a point 26 metres south-east of its southern junction with Rainham Road South (adjacent to Nos. 572 to 586 Rainham Road South).

d. Rainham Road South, east side, from its junction with Yew Tree Avenue for a distance of 48 metres in a north-westerly direction.

e. Yew Tree Avenue, both sides, from its junction with Rainham Road South for a distance of 290.5 metres in an easterly direction.

2. Replace Limited Waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm 1hr No return within 2hrs restriction with a No Waiting at any time restriction on Rainham Road South, west side, from a point 10.5 metres north-west of its junction with Cambeys Road for a distance of 21.5 metres in a north-westerly direction.

3. Revoke No waiting at any time restrictions at the following locations:

a. Reede Road, both sides, from its junction with Rainham Road South for a distance of 3.2 metres in a westerly direction.

4. Revoke No waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm restrictions at the following locations:

a. Rainham Road South, east side, from its junction with Rainham Road South (adjacent to Nos. 572 to 586 Rainham Road South) for a distance of 9.1 metres in a south-easterly direction.

b. Rainham Road South, east side, from its junction with Rainham Road South (adjacent to Nos. 572 to 586 Rainham Road South) for a distance of 2.5 metres in a north-westerly direction.

c. Rainham Road South (adjacent to Nos. 572 to 586 Rainham Road South), both sides, from its southern junction with Rainham Road South for a distance of 4.9 metres in a north-easterly direction.

d. Rainham Road South, east side, from a point 19.8 metres north-west of its junction with Yew Tree Avenue for a distance of 9.8 metres in a north-westerly direction.

e. Rainham Road South, east side, from its junction with the centre line of Yew Tree Avenue for a distance of 83 metres in a southerly direction.

5. Readjust existing No waiting at any time restriction around the new kerb build out at the following locations:

a. Western Avenue, south side, at its junction with Rainham Road South; Dewey Road, north side, at its junction with Rainham Road South; Foxlands Road, both sides, at its junction with Rainham Road South; Reede Road, north side, at its junction with Rainham Road South;

6. Readjust existing Permit holders only Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm restriction adjacent to the new kerb build out at the following location:

a. Foxlands Road, south side, in the lay-by adjacent to the Police Station.

7. Revoke part of the No waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm restriction adjacent to the new kerb build out at the following location:

a. Foxlands Road, south side, in the lay-by adjacent to the Police Station for a distance of 2 metres.

A copy of the Orders, which will come into force on Thursday 1 May 2025 and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders are available to view for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published on the Councils website by visiting the following webpage https://www.lbbd.gov.uk/parking/parking-area and selecting ‘New and proposed traffic and parking schemes’ or available for inspection at the Adult Library, First Floor, Barking Learning Centre, Barking between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers of the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or any Regulations under it have not been complied with may do so within six weeks of the made date of the Order by applying to the High Court
