DIRECTION UNDER REGULATION 7 TO CONTROL

THE DISPLAY OF ‘TO LET’ BOARDS

Notice is hereby given that The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government (‘the Secretary of State’) is satisfied, upon a proposal made to her by the County Council of Durham, as the Local Planning Authority, that the display of advertisements relating to the letting of premises as specified in Class 3A of Schedule 3, Part 1, to the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007 (‘The Regulations’) should not be undertaken without express consent in parts of the Durham City Conservation Area.

The Direction covers the following areas in the Durham City Conservation Area namely:

• Peninsula

• Framwellgate

• Crossgate

• Elvet

• Gilesgate

This Direction shall have effect for a period of 5 years from 30 May 2025 in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations.

The Direction and the maps defining the areas subject to the Direction are available for inspection at County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL during the hours of 9am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday and are also available on the Council’s website at www.durham.gov.uk.
