Notice is hereby given that the Somerset Council has applied to Taunton Magistrates’ Court sitting at The Magistrates' Court, St John's Road, Taunton, TA1 4AX on Tuesday 17 June 2025 at 10:00 for an Order under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the stopping up of the highway being highway at Stowey Lane in the Parish of Holford shown hatched red on the Plan attached to the said Order with reference WSDC-HL-SU02 (Plan) on the ground that the highway is unnecessary. The effect of the Order will be to extinguish all public rights of way over the said land.

A copy of the Order and Plan may be inspected free of charge at the Council Offices at:

• Deane House, Taunton, TA1 1HE during regular office hours Monday to Fridays (excluding bank holidays and public holidays)

from the date hereof until 17 June 2025.

Any person to whom this Notice has been given or who uses the highway specified or who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order has a right to appear before the Magistrates’ Court to raise an objection or make a representation on the application.
