ROCHDALE TOWN CENTRE CONSERVATION AREA (REVISION TO THE BOUNDARY OF THE DESIGNATED CONSERVATION AREA)
Notice is hereby given that on 5 June 2024 Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council amended the boundary of the designated Rochdale Town Centre Conservation Area in accordance with Sections 69 & 70 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.
Amendments to the Conservation Area boundary
The revised Rochdale Town Centre Conservation Area boundary includes the following extensions:
• An area of Broadfield Park, enclosed by Manchester Road to the west and Kilnerdeyne Terrace to the south;
• The graveyard associated with St Chad’s Church, enclosed by Vicars Drive (west), Drake Street (south) and Church Stile (east).
The boundary has also been amended to remove the following sites from the Conservation Area:
• 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 Back Drake Street
• Rochdale Transport, S and A Club, Baron Street
• RMBC Car Park, Church Lane
• 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15 Church Stile
• 110, 110A, 112, 114, 116-118, 120, 122, 124, 124A, 126, 126A, 128, 130, 130B, 130C and 132 Drake Street
• 2 Kenion Street
• Moore Street Congregational Chapel, Moore Street
• 4, 6, 37 and 39 Moore Street
• Newgate House, Newgate
• Car Park on Newgate
• 30 Oak Street
• 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10,11,12,13 and 14 Saint Chad’s Court
• Former Madisons Restaurant, St Mary’s Gate
• 50, 58, 60, 62 and 64 School Lane
• The Church Hall, St Chad’s Fold, Sparrow Hill
