ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA
PROVISION OF ONE-WAY EXCEPT CYCLES IN CANTLE MEWS AND WHEATSTONE GARDENS
THE KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (NO. 2) TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) on 24th June 2025 Made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be to provide:
i. a north-eastbound one-way system applying to all vehicles except pedal cycles for the entire length of Cantle Mews, with accompanying ‘no entry except cycles’ restrictions from Wornington Road into Cantle Mews; and
ii. a south-westbound one-way system applying to all vehicles except pedal cycles for the entire length of Wheatstone Gardens, with accompanying ‘no entry except cycles’ from Portobello Road into Wheatstone Gardens;
3. Copies of the Order, which will come into effect on 1st July 2025 and of all other relevant documents may be obtained via email for inspection by contacting trafficorders@rbkc.gov.uk quoting reference: “Wornington Green – one way” and can be inspected at Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street, London W8 7NX between 9am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of six weeks from the date the order was made.
4. Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
