THE HACKNEY (PARKING PLACES) (MAP BASED) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.291) ORDER 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 20th day of June 2025 the Council of the London Borough of Hackney made the above-mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

2. The general effect of the orders will be will be to introduce Electric Vehicle charging bays with a maximum stay of 4 hours no return within 2 hours in the following locations;

Road Name Location
Brenthouse Road 10.8m away east direction from the existing kerb line of Mare Street. Install a new 28.9m electric vehicle charging bay in the east direction replacing a cashless shared use bay.
Farleigh Road 13.8m away west direction from existing kerb line of Farleigh Place. Install a new 14.7m electric vehicle charging bay on the opposite side, in the west direction replacing a cashless shared use bay.
Gore Road 3.5m away west direction from existing building line of 26 and 27 Gore Road. Install a new 28.9m electric vehicle charging bay on the opposite side in the west direction replacing a cashless shared use bay.
Mapledene Road 11.2m away west direction from existing kerb line of Lansdowne Drive. Install a new 28.9m electric vehicle charging bay in the west direction replacing a cashless shared use bay.
Ridley Road On the south side, from a point 9.7m of building line 174 to 184 Ridley Road eastwards for a distance of 26.9m, install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a cashless shared use bay.
Somerford Grove On the south side, from a point of 39.4m of the eastern kerb line of Stoke Newington Road eastwards for a distance of 31.4m, install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a cashless shared use bay.
Stamford Road On the south side, from a point 10.4m of western kerbline of Mortimer Road south westwards for a distance of 28.9m, install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a cashless shared use bay.
Tyssen Road 10.2m away east direction from existing kerb line of Stoke Newington High Street. Install a new 28.9m electric vehicle charging bay in the east direction replacing a cashless shared use bay.
Valette Street On the west side, from a point 18.0m of northern kerbline of Paragon Road northwards for a distance of 30.7m, install a new electric vehicle charging bay replacing a cashless shared use bay.

3. The general effect of the Orders will be to implement the following provisions at the locations listed:

● Electric vehicle recharging only bays

● Car Club permit holder only (Downs Park Road HC-198 and Kenninghall Road HC-200)

● Electric vehicle recharging point only Max stay 4 hours No return within 2 hours

Downs Park Road 21.7m away east direction from existing kerb line of Amhurst Road. Install a new 5.5m car club bay & 2.7m no waiting at any time restrictions & 20.7m electric vehicle charging bay in the east direction replacing a cashless shared use bay.
Kenninghall Road 22.4m away east direction from existing kerb line of Rendlesham Road. Install a new 19.2m electric vehicle charging bay & 2.7m no waiting at any time restrictions & 5.0m car club bay in the east direction replacing a cashless shared use bay.

4. Copies of the Orders, which will come into force on 30th day of July 2025, other relevant Orders, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, can be inspected for a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made by email request to streetscene.consultations@hackney.gov.uk. Alternatively such documents can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays, in the visitor’s reception area, London Borough of Hackney, Hackney Service Centre, 1 Hillman Street, London, E8 1DY by appointment only.

5. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders are made, may appeal to the High Court.
