Wigan Borough Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends to carry out street works on Quakers Place, Standish.

Part of Quakers Place is not registered with the Land Registry and enquiries have been made by us, however we have been unable to ascertain the true legal owner(s) of that part of street.

It is the Council’s intention to exercise its statutory notice procedure under Section 228 of the Highways Act 1980 with a view to adopting such part of the street as is not currently adopted, so that that part of Quakers Place will become a highway maintainable at the public expense.

Any person who believes he/she/they are the true owner(s) or has/have any information on the ownership of the Section 228 Land should contact Simeon Jordan in writing (Telephone: 07876 790 753) quoting reference SJ/1904192, no later than 28th July. A copy of the notice and plans may be inspected at Wigan Town Hall during normal office hours 9am to 5pm (excluding Saturday and Sundays).
