The Welsh Ministers propose to make an Order in exercise of their powers under sections 82(2) and 83(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the proposed Order will be to derestrict to the national speed limit the lengths of the A48 trunk road specified in the schedule to this Notice.

During a period of 21 days from 16 July 2025, a copy of the proposed Order, plans and a Statement of Reasons for making the Order may be inspected free of charge, during normal opening hours at Ammanford Library, 3 Wind Street, Ammanford, SA18 3DN, or can be viewed on the Welsh Government’s website at https://gov.wales/road-orders or may be obtained free of charge from the address below quoting reference number qA2291046.

Objections, specifying the grounds on which they are made, must be sent by e-mail to TransportOrdersBranch@gov.wales or in writing to Orders Branch, Transport, Welsh Government, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF10 3NQ by 5 August 2025 2025.

Should you wish to object, support or make representations, the Welsh Government may need to consult with people and organisations outside the Welsh Government. As part of the consultation process, we may pass information to them, including information you have given us and your personal data. We will, however, only disclose your personal details where it is necessary to do so to address the issues raised. If you do not wish personal data to be forwarded to third parties, you should state this when submitting your correspondence and the Welsh Ministers will copy the representations to the appropriate third parties with the name and address removed and if there is to be a local Public Inquiry, the representations will be seen by the Inspector who may give them less weight as a result.

The length of the northbound and southbound carriageways of the A48 trunk road that extend from a point located 632 metres north of its junction with Heol Y Deri, Cwmgwili, to a point located 213 metres south of the said junction.
