GLOUCESTER TERRACE, PORCHESTER SQUARE AND RANELAGH BRIDGE
THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (PARKING PLACES) (B ZONE) (AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 202*
THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 202*
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders would be, in connection with the introduction of four “zebra” pedestrian crossings at the junction of Gloucester Terrace, Porchester Square and Ranelagh Bridge, to:
(a) on Gloucester Terrace, east of Porchester Terrace / Ranelagh Bridge:
(i) on the north side, outside Nos. 206 to 208, introduce double yellow line “at any time” waiting and loading restrictions, replacing 8.4 metres of residents’ parking; and
(ii) on the south side, outside No. 229, introduce double yellow line “at any time” waiting and loading restrictions, replacing 10.4 metres of single yellow line Monday to Friday 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. and Saturday 8.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. waiting restrictions;
(b) on Gloucester Terrace / Porchester Square (north-western arm), west of Porchester Terrace / Ranelagh Bridge:
(i) on the north side, outside No. 218 Gloucester Terrace, shorten the residents’ parking by 5 metres at its eastern end; and
(ii) on the south side, opposite No. 220 Gloucester Terrace, introduce double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions, replacing 14.2 metres of residents’ parking;
(c) on Porchester Square (eastern arm), on the east side, outside No. 8, introduce 6.7 metres of “at any time” loading restrictions; and
(d) on Ranelagh Bridge, introduce “at any time” loading restrictions:
(i) on the east side, opposite the flank wall of No. 214 Gloucester Terrace (12.9 metres); and
(ii) on the west side, adjacent to No. 214 Gloucester Terrace (5.3 metres).
3. FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council, in accordance with the provisions of section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to introduce “zebra” pedestrian crossings on:
(a) Ranelagh Bridge, lying immediately west of No. 210 Gloucester Terrace – the associated zig-zag markings would extend 10.9 metres north-westward and 19 metres eastward onto Gloucester Terrace;
(b) Gloucester Terrace / Porchester Square (north-western arm), at its junction with Ranelagh Bridge, outside No. 214 Gloucester Terrace – the associated zig-zag markings would extend 24.4 metres westward and 10.7 metres northward onto Ranelagh Bridge;
(c) Gloucester Terrace / Porchester Square (north-western arm), at its junction with Porchester Square (eastern arm), adjacent to No. 9 Porchester Square – the associated zig-zag markings would extend 19.5 metres westward and 5.6 metres southward onto Porchester Square (eastern arm); and
(d) Gloucester Terrace, adjacent to No. 8 Porchester Square – the associated zig-zag markings would extend 5.5 metres westward and 19 metres eastward.
4. The proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders at https://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank / public holidays).
