LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS

THE TOWER HAMLETS (WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (MAP BASED) ORDER 2019 AND

THE TOWER HAMLETS (PARKING PLACES) (MAP BASED) ORDER 2019, AND

THE TOWER HAMLETS (TRAFFIC MOVEMENT AND SPEED LIMIT REGULATIONS) (MAP BASED) ORDER 2021

1.The general effect of these proposals are:

PTO 2244 : Leyden Street / Cobb Street:

a) Leyden Street :

(i) The entire length between Wentworth Street and Cobb Street - To replace the prohibition of motor vehicles with a pedestrian zone to operate ‘at all times’, to prohibit all vehicles including ridden pedal cycles, (except for any vehicle being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes).

(ii) to replace the “at any time” waiting restrictions in the form of a Restricted Zone (no physical yellow line markings on the ground).

(iii) To introduce no Loading ‘at any time’ restrictions to accompany the existing double yellow lines on all corners of Leyden Street with Cobb Street and Wentworth Street.

b) Cobb Street: outside the flank wall of no.7 Leyden Street, by removing the 8m of the double yellow line introduce a Goods Loading Bay to operate at all times with 20 mins max stay and no return within 2 hours.

PTO 2251 : Hancock Road / Three Mill Lane:

a) To replace the double yellow lines to facilitate new Zebra Crossings on: (i) Three Mill Lane at the junction of Otis Street and outside of the Tesco car park, and (ii) Hancock Road – outside no.28/30 to replace the loading bay and no loading restrictions on the west kerb too.

b) On Hancock Road:

(i) adjacent to the bus stand (outside Pintle Place) to replace 6m of double yellow line with a loading bay to operate ‘at any time’ with 20 minutes maximum stay and no return within 2 hours.

(ii) East kerb outside no.28/30 between the bus stand and the new zebra crossing zig zag markings in (a) above, to introduce no loading ‘at any time’ restrictions to accompany the remaining double yellow lines.

PTO 2252 : Brady Street / Bethnal Green Road / Dongola Road:

a) Brady street (west kerb) : (i) adjacent to no.43 to extend the existing resident parking northwards by 5m, and (ii) to introduce a 10m permit holder parking bay from a point approx.26m north of the north kerb line of Tent Street.

b) Bethnal Green Road (South kerb between Wilmot Street and Vallance Road) - to convert the single yellow line operational hours from 8.30 am-5.30pm to 7am-5.30pm

c) Dongola Road outside no.13: To replace the personalised disabled parking bay no.TH DIS.570 with a resident parking space.

2. The Regulations, fees and usual exemptions imposed by the governing Traffic Management Orders would apply to the proposals referred to in paragraph 1 above.

3. A copy of each of the proposed Orders and all relevant documents can be obtained by emailing Parking.TMO@towerhamlets.gov.uk until the expiration of a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published.

4. Any objections or other representations about the proposed Orders should be sent by email to the above email address in paragraph 3 or in writing to Parking & Mobility Services, 585-593 Commercial Road, London E1 0HJ within 21 days from the date on which this Notice is published. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
