HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 – SECTION 90A
LADBROKE SQUARE AND LADBROKE TERRACE
ROAD HUMPS (REFERENCE: NCIL3 PB10)
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) proposes, under Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980, to construct the type of road humps know as “sinusoidal road humps” at the following locations in Ladbroke Square and Ladbroke Terrace (measurements are given from the centre line of the road hump).
(i) At the common boundary of Nos. 3 and 4 Ladbroke Square;
(ii) At the common boundary of Nos. 13 and 14 Ladbroke Square;
(iii) 5 metres (16ft) east of the common boundary of No. 21 Ladbroke Square and 9A Ladbroke Terrace;
(iv) At the common boundary of Nos. 29 and 30 Ladbroke Square;
(v) At the common boundary of Nos. 39 and 40 Ladbroke Square;
(vi) 8 metres (26ft) north of the common boundary of Nos. 9A and 10 Ladbroke Terrace;
(vii) 20 metres (65ft) north of the common boundary of Chartwell House on Ladbroke Terrace;
(viii) 3 metres (10ft) north of the common boundary of Nos. 16 and 17 Ladbroke Terrace; and
(ix) On Ladbroke Terrace, 18 metres (59ft) north of the southern boundary of No. 2 Holland Park Avenue.
[Note: Each “sinusoidal road hump” would be an elevated section of carriageway with a round top, 75mm millimetres higher at its highest point than the surrounding carriageway, approximately 9 metres wide and approximately 3.7 metres in length].
2. The road humps are being introduced as part of a scheme intended to reduce traffic speeds on the affected roads.

Further information, including a copy of plans, may be obtained via email by contacting trafficorders@rbkc.gov.uk or by contacting Allan Evans, Senior Traffic Engineer, by telephone on 07816 991 973 quoting reference “Road Humps on Ladbroke Square and Ladbroke Terrace” and can be inspected by appointment at Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street, London, W8 7NX during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.
4. Anyone wishing to support, object or to make any other representation with regards to the measures set out above, should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection, stating the grounds thereof, to the Council by email to: trafficorders@rbkc.gov.uk or by post to: Transportation and Highways, The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street, London, W8 7NX, quoting reference “Road Humps on Ladbroke Square and Ladbroke Terrace (NCIL3 PB10)” by 26th November 2025.
5. Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any letter you write to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.
