ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984
SECTION 23 AND HIGHWAYS ACT 1980, SECTION 90C
PROPOSED RAISED ZEBRA CROSSING
BINGHAM ROAD, CROYDON
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that they propose to install a raised zebra crossing in the above road as specified in the Schedule to this Notice to provide a safe crossing facility and improve road safety for pedestrians.
The general effect of the zig-zag markings would be to prohibit all vehicles from stopping on the markings for any reason and to improve road safety by aiding pedestrians to cross safely.
Persons desiring to object to the proposal should send a statement in writing of their objections and grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Design Team, 3rd Floor, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA or by emailing Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk quoting the reference PD/CH/Bingham Rd Zebra/F36a by 03 December 2025.

SCHEDULE
It is intended to place a zebra crossing on an existing raised table in the carriageway, in accordance with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999. As a guide this will be 80mm high with an approximate ramp gradient of 1:16 and placed in the following location.
Bingham Road outside No. 39 - The crossing point will be located on an existing raised table which will be extended north-eastwards by 8.8 metres. The crossing point will be 4.6 metres wide, and the zig zag markings will extend 12.6 metres to the north-east and 4.6 metres to the south-west of the crossing point.
