1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under the powers conferred by sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

2. The general effect of the ‘Free Parking Places’ Order would be to:-

(a) designate a parking place on the carriageway, 6.6 metres in length, at each of the locations listed in Schedule 1 to this Notice, in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for any period without charge;

(b) designate a parking place partially on the footway, 6.6 metres in length, at the location listed in Schedule 2 to this Notice, in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for any period without charge;

(c) provide that the parking places would operate at all times, unless otherwise stated;

(d) specify, in respect of the parking places, that vehicles displaying in the relevant position, a disabled persons badge (commonly referred to as "the Blue Badge") issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations 2000 may be left therein;

(e) provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g. to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 2 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes), etc;

(f) revoke the disabled persons parking places at the locations specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice.

3. The general effect of the ‘Parking Places Amendment’ Orders would be to shorten in length existing permit only parking places to facilitate the introduction of disabled persons parking place in certain roads or extend existing permit parking places upon the removal of disabled persons parking places.

4. A copy of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans which show the exact lengths of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected Monday to Friday during normal office hours at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.

5. Any person desiring to comment on the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof, to the Environment, Civic Pride and Climate Department at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden SM4 5DX, or alternatively e-mail trafficandhighways@merton.gov.uk quoting reference ES/DPPP75, no later than 5 December 2025.

BECKWAY ROAD, SW16, the south-west side, from the common boundary of Nos. 37 and 39 Beckway Road, south-eastward for a distance of 6.6 metres.

BECKWAY ROAD, SW16, the south-west side, from the common boundary of Nos. 57 and 59 Beckway Road, north-westward for a distance of 6.6 metres.

CRICKET GREEN, MITCHAM, CR4, the north-east side, from a point 0.5 metre south-east of the north-western boundary of the Mitcham Methodist Church, south-eastward for a distance of 6.6 metres.

GORDONDALE ROAD, SW19, the north-west side, from a point 2.6 metres north-east of the common boundary of Nos. 1 and 3 Gordondale Road, north-eastward for a distance of 6.6 metres (CPZ P3).

RODNEY PLACE, SW19, the north-east side, from a point 7 metres north-west of the common boundary of Nos 1 and 2 Rodney Place, north-westward for a distance of 6.6 metres (CPZ SW1).

SCHEDULE 2

QUICKS ROAD, SW19, the south side, from the common boundary of Nos. 56 and 57, eastward for a distance of 6.6 metres. This bay is partially on the footway by 0.6 metres. (CPZ S2).
