LUPUS STREET

THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (A ZONE) (AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the above Order under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 63 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order would be, in connection with improvements to the cycle routes on Lupus Street, to:

(a) replace the residents’ parking place on the west side of Lupus Street, between Turpentine Lane and Westmoreland Terrace, with double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions;

(b) introduce double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions on both sides of Lupus Street, on the bend opposite Westmoreland Terrace and Sussex Street;

(c) replace the redundant doctor parking place on the south side of Lupus Street, outside Nash House, with a car club parking place;

(d) relocate the cycle hangar and one electric vehicle parking bay from the north side of Lupus Street, at the rear of No. 96 Gloucester Street, to the south side of Lupus Street, outside Nash House (replacing the car club parking place); and

(e) introduce a loading bay (operating between 7.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. throughout the week, maximum stay of 2 hours, no return within 1 hour) on the south side of Lupus Street, outside De Quincey House (replacing two pay-by-phone parking bays and a length of single yellow line waiting restrictions).

3. FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council, in accordance with the provisions of section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to:

(a) introduce a “zebra” pedestrian crossing on Lupus Street, at the rear of No. 96 Gloucester Street – the associated zig-zag markings would extend, on the north side, from a point 0.3 metres east of the eastern boundary of No. 56 Sutherland Street to a point 9.2 metres east of the western boundary of No. 96 Gloucester Street, and on the south side, from a point 4.9 metres west of the western boundary of No. 96 Gloucester Street to a point 17.6 metres east of that western boundary; and

(b) realign the zig-zag markings at the “zebra” pedestrian crossing on Lupus Street, between Winchester Street and Charlwood Street, to form continuous cycle routes with the advisory with-flow cycle lanes.

4. It is also proposed to introduce an advisory with-flow cycle lane on the north side of Lupus Street, between Turpentine Lane and Westmoreland Terrace.

5. The proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Order is made or the Council decides not to make the Order at https://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank / public holidays).
