1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis and under powers conferred by section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to improve pedestrian safety, intend to upgrade the existing zebra crossing in Morden Road, near its junction with Deer Park Gardens into a signalised pedestrian crossing.

2. The pedestrian crossing will remain at its current location with an improved and widened refuge island.

3. A copy of this notice and a plan showing the location of the proposed crossing can be inspected during normal office hours on Monday to Friday at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey. Information is also available on Merton Council’s website at www.merton.gov.uk/mordenrd-pedx and will be updated as the scheme progresses.

4. Any persons desiring to comment on the proposals should send a statement in writing to the Environment, Civic Pride and Climate Department, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, SM4 5DX, or alternatively by email to Traffic.andHighways@merton.gov.uk quoting reference ES/MORDENRD-PEDX no later than 19 December 2025.
