– NOTICE OF PROPOSAL
Amendments to motorcycle parking places, payment parking places, E-Scooter Bays, waiting and loading restrictions and proposing the introduction of raised carriageways at various locations.
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other powers, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Common Council of the City of London intend to make the orders set out in section 1 to this notice, with the effect set out in section 2 to this notice, by amending the orders set out in section 3 to this notice.
1. The following orders intend to be made;
(a) The City of London (Free Parking Places) (Motor Cycles) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*
(b) The City of London (Parking Places) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*
(c) The City of London (Electric Scooter and Pedal Cycle Parking) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*
(d) The City of London (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*
2. The orders set out in section 1 to this notice will propose to have the following effect;
(a) Bury Street: -
(i) introduce No Waiting at any time and No Loading at any time at its junction with Creechurch Lane;
(ii) reduce the length of the existing payment parking place on the north-east side outside No. 31 Bury Street, which operates Monday-Friday 8am-7pm and Saturdays 8am-11am except Bank Holidays with a maximum stay of 4 hours no return within 1 hour, by 6 metres (1 space) in a north-westerly direction;
(b) Creechurch Lane to:-
(i) revoke the three payment parking places on the east side outside Nos. 12 to 18 Creechurch Lane which operate Monday-Friday 8am-7pm and Saturdays 8am-11am except Bank Holidays with a maximum stay of 4 hours no return within 1 hour;
(ii) revoke the existing motorcycle parking place on the east side outside No. 10 Creechurch Lane;
(iii) revoke the Electric Scooter and Cycle Hire Pedal Cycle Parking Places on the east side outside No. 2 Creechurch Lane;
(iv) introduce No Waiting at any time and No Loading at any time restrictions on the east side outside Nos. 10 to 20 Creechurch Lane;
(v) introduce No Waiting at any time and No Loading at any time restrictions on the west side from its junction with Leadenhall Street to its junction with Bury Street;
(vi) introduce No Waiting at any time and No Loading at any time at its junction with Leadenhall Street;
(c) Mitre Street to:-
(i) introduce an electric scooter and cycle hire pedal cycle parking place on the north-east side outside Mitre House;
(ii) reduce the length of the existing payment parking place on the north-east side outside Mitre House, which operates Monday-Friday 8am-7pm and Saturdays 8am-11am except Bank Holidays with a maximum stay of 4 hours no return within 1 hour, by 6 metres (1 space) in a north-westerly direction;
(iii) introduce No Loading at any time restrictions at is junction with Creechurch Lane and along its plateau for a distance of 7.5 metres in a south-easterly direction;
(iv) introduce No Waiting at any time restrictions on the north-east side, from a point 4.2 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb-line of Creechurch Lane for a distance of 18.6 metres in a south-easterly direction;
(d) Billiter Street to:-
(i) introduce a motor cycle parking place on the west side adjacent to No. 25 Fenchurch Avenue;
(ii) introduce two payment parking places on the east side adjacent to No. 40 Leadenhall Street, operating Monday-Friday 8am-7pm and Saturdays 8am-11am except Bank Holidays with a maximum stay of 4 hours no return within 1 hour;
(e) Fenchurch Avenue to:-
(i) introduce three payment parking places on the south side outside No. 10 Fenchurch Avenue, operating Monday-Friday 8am-7pm and Saturdays 8am-11am except Bank Holidays with a maximum stay of 4 hours no return within 1 hour;
(ii) relocate the existing electric scooter and cycle hire pedal cycle parking place on the south side by 10.6 metres in a westerly direction.
3. The orders will be made by amending the following orders;
(a) The City of London (Free Parking Places) (Motor Cycles) (Consolidation No. 1) Order 2017
(b) The City of London (Parking Places) (Consolidation No. 1) Order 2018 (as amended)
(c) The City of London (Electric Scooter and Pedal Cycle Parking) (No. 1) Order 2022 (as amended)
(d) The City of London (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Consolidation No. 2) Order 2021
4. The City of London also gives notice that it proposes to introduce a raised carriageway under sections 90A & 90C of the Highways Act 1980 (as amended) at the following location:
