THE BROMLEY (PROHIBITION OF STOPPING OUTSIDE SCHOOLS) ORDER 1998 (AMENDMENT NO. 100) ORDER 2026

(CLIFFORD AVENUE, DENBIGH CLOSE, GRANGE DRIVE, CHISLEHURST & JAIL LANE, BIGGIN HILL)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Bromley proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under Sections 6 and 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and all other enabling powers.

The effect of the Orders would be to:

(a) Introduce ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions as set out in Schedule 1 to this Notice.

(b) Amend existing times of ‘School Keep Clear’ restrictions from Mon-Fri 8am-9.30am and 2.30pm-4pm to Mon-Fri 8am-9.30am and 2.30pm-6pm as set out in Schedule 2 to this Notice.

Details of prohibitions and exemptions for certain vehicles and persons are contained in the original Orders.

Copies of the proposed Order, of the plans of the scheme and of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at Bromley Council, Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley, BR1 3UH, or by emailing TrafficManagementOrders@Bromley.gov.uk

ANY person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Director of Environment and Public Protection, Civic Centre, Westmoreland Road, Bromley, BR1 1DP, or by email to TrafficManagementOrders@Bromley.gov.uk. quoting reference ADE(TP)/RP/T100/T812 not later than 4th February 2026.

Persons objecting to the proposed Order should be aware that under the provisions of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any comments received in response to this Notice may be open to public inspection.

SCHEDULE 1: -

WAITING RESTRICTIONS

No Waiting at Any Time: -

CLIFFORD AVENUE, Chislehurst: (a) east (i) from a point 10m north of the northern kerbline of Denbigh Close southward to a point 10m south of the southern kerbline of Denbigh Close

DENBIGH CLOSE, Chislehurst: (a) both (i) from the southeastern kerbline of Clifford Avenue eastwards for 10m.

GRANGE DRIVE, Chislehurst: (a) north (i) from a point 10m west of the western kerbline of Melbury Close to a point 10m east of the eastern kerbline of Melbury Close.

JAIL LANE, Biggin Hill: (a) north (i) from the western boundary of No. 123 eastwards to a point 16.5m east of the eastern of the eastern entrance to Charles Darwin School (including the extremities of the school access points) (b) south (i) from the common boundary of 'Sospiro' and 'Keepers Cottage' to a point 81.5m westwards.

WAITING RESTRICTIONS

School Keep Clear Mon-Fri 8am-9.30am and 2.30pm-6pm

CLIFFORD AVENUE, Chislehurst: (a) west (i) from a point 10.5m northeast of the northern kerbline of Denbigh Close to a point 37.56m northwards.

GRANGE DRIVE, Chislehurst: (a) north (i) from a point 5.3m east of the common boundary of Nos. 17 & 19 to a point 31.56m eastwards.
