LONDON BOROUGH OF BRENT

THE BRENT (PRESCRIBED ROUTES) (SCHOOL STREETS) (PEDESTRIAN & CYCLE ZONES) (CONSOLIDATION) (NO. 1, 2025) (AMENDMENT NO. 5) ORDER 2026

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent on 8th June 2026 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part I of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.

2. The general effect of the above Order will be to:-

(a) permanently re-introduce the previous experimental Maple Walk School, St Claudine’s Catholic School for Girls and John Keble Church of England Primary School Street Pedestrian and Cycle Zone (SZ 4) operating from 7.45 a.m. to 9.15 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (school term time only) in:-

(i) Burns Road, between the north-western kerb-line of Crownhill Road and the south-eastern kerb-line of Ashdon Road;

(ii) Crownhill Road, between the south-western kerb-line of Sellons Avenue and the south-western kerb-line of Harlesden Gardens;

(iii) Harlesden Gardens; and

(iv) St Johns Avenue, between the north-western kerb-line of Crownhill Road and the south-eastern kerb-line of Ashdon Road;

(b) permanently expand the existing Kingsbury Green Primary School and St Robert Southwell RC Primary School Street Pedestrian and Cycle Zone (SZ 23) operating from 8.15 a.m. to 9.15 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (school term time only) to also include:-

(i) Old Kenton Lane, between the north-western kerb-line of Sunningdale Gardens and the western kerb-line of Slough Lane; and

(ii) Slough Lane, between a point 12.00 metres north-east of a point opposite the common-boundary of Nos. 144 and 148 Slough Lane and the south-western kerb-line of Kingsbury Road;

(c) permanently re-introduce the previous experimental Oliver Goldsmith Primary School Street Pedestrian and Cycle Zone (SZ 32) operating from 8.15 a.m. to 9.15 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 3.45 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (school term time only) in Coniston Gardens, Fryent, between the north-eastern kerb-line of Kingsbury Road and the south-western kerb-line of Mardale Drive; and

(d) permanently re-introduce the previous experimental Preston Manor Primary School Street Pedestrian and Cycle Zone (SZ 33) operating from 8.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (school term time only) in:-

(i) Carlton Avenue East, which lies between the south-eastern kerb-line of Preston Road and the north-western kerb-line of Forty Avenue;

(ii) Elmstead Avenue, which lies between a point opposite the north-western boundary of No. 4 Elmstead Avenue and the northern kerb-line of Forty Avenue; and

(iii) Princess Avenue.

3. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 15th June 2026, of maps of the relevant areas and of the above-mentioned Order of 2025 (and of any Orders which have amended that Order) can be requested via email during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made at trafficorders@brent.gov.uk.

4. Any person desiring to question the validity of any of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to any of the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
