Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925, that the Trustee of Haberdashers’ Company Pension Scheme (the “Scheme”) is winding up the Scheme.
The Scheme is deemed to have commenced to wind up on 20 February 2026. Winding up simply means that the Trustee is taking steps to formally close down the Scheme. The Scheme will only be fully wound up once the appropriate benefits for all members have been secured with an insurance provider and all assets and liabilities extinguished. • any person who was an employee / employed by the company referred to below and who is a member of the Scheme;
• any person who believes they were a member of the Scheme;
• any person who believes themselves to be a beneficiary of the Scheme as the widow, widower or dependant of a deceased member of the Scheme; and,
• any person who has a claim against, or entitlement from, the Scheme.
If you were an employee of the Master and Four Wardens of the Fraternity of the Art of Mystery of Haberdashers in the City of London and consider that you may be entitled to benefits from the Scheme and have not already been contacted, please write to the Scheme administrator, First Actuarial, at the address given further below with full details of your claim and any benefits that you think you are entitled to, including your full name, address, NI Number, dates of employment and copies of any relevant papers. This information must be received by 10 September 2026.
After 10 September 2026, the Trustee will proceed to deal with the assets of Scheme among the persons entitled to them and may have regard only to those claims and entitlements of which it had prior written notice. The Trustee will not be liable to or in respect of any person whose claim or entitlement had not been so notified to it by 10 September 2026.
If the Trustee, or First Actuarial is already in contact with you or has contacted you within the last 12 months (for example if you have received correspondence from them) you do not need to reply to this notice as your interest has already been noted.
