THE CAMDEN (PRESCRIBED ROUTE) (REVOCATION) TRAFFIC ORDER 2001
COVENT GARDEN EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC SCHEME
SEVEN DIALS AREA

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Camden on 24 July 2001, suspended the Camden (Prescribed Route) (No 1) Experimental Traffic Order. The Order provides that, in pursuance of section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Director of the Council’s Environment Department or some person authorised in that behalf by him and after consulting with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, may suspend any provision of this Order or any provisions thereof if it appears essential to do so for certain purposes. The details of the Experimental Order below will be suspended and revert to the previous traffic layout. This will come into force on 25 July 2001. (i) Monmouth Street between Shelton Street and Seven Dials. Reverse current one-way working so that vehicles must only proceed in a northbound direction. (ii) Tower Street. Reverse one-way working so that vehicles must only proceed in a south-easterly direction. Prohibit the right turn from Tower Street into Monmouth Street. (iii) Earlham Street junction with Shaftesbury Avenue introduce a closure. Prohibit vehicles from entering/exiting, except for pedal cycles and emergency service vehicles. (iv) Earlham Street between Shaftesbury Avenue and Tower Street, Revoke existing one-way working. (v) Endell Street junction with Betterton Street introduce a closure. Prohibit vehicles from entering/exiting, except for pedal cycles and emergency service vehicles. (vi) Endell Street between Betterton Street and Shelton Street. Revoke existing one-way working.
